Hitachi's New Hard disk series

Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has just released its new line of CinemaStar hard drives, the new series is built on the 500GB/platter, boasting 7200RPM and ranging from 160GB to 1TB. The new drives are designed for multimedia solutions such as HD recording, editing and storage. With the new series released, Hitachi is in a better position to compete with Western Digital and Seagate who dominant the home pc mass storage market. It is believe Hitachi's entry will force its rivals to bring down the price of TB-based hard disks. We should see more competitively priced giant TB hard disks on the market soon.  (source: http://www.hitachigst.com/)
